Grantley Adams International Airport in April 2012 took delivery of an A8000 Beam Sweeper, designed to address all the major de-rubberising needs of the airport runway.
The machine was tailored to meet both their immediate and future requirements - a 8m³ Hopper made from Stainless Steel 304 and mounted on a Mercedes Benz Axor 1823 4X2 Chassis.
NSG not only worked with the supplier and the client to jointly select the best machine and options for their budget and for the application, but also worked with freight companies with respect to insurance and shipping.
Part of the acquisition package included 2 days of training by a Beam engineer from Denmark, where the hopper was manufactured. The technical team from GAIA were on hand to receive both operational and maintenance training on the scrubbing and rubber removal unit.
The options on this Sweeper include a Rear TV Mobitronic, High-Pressure Hose Equipment for the hose reel, Water-Heating System for the tanks, Spray Boom with V-Jets and a Top-Mounted Wander Hose to name a few.
Combined with the product quality of an international company such as Beam, with a parts support and back-up for a minimum of 10 years after delivery, this sweeper will continue to provide excellent service to the GAIA for many years in the future.
