This rugged ATV was recently donated to the Forestry Division of the Ministry of Agriculture.
It is not your typical all-terrain vehicle, but one of three recently donated by NSG to support the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines after Hurricane Beryl.
This one is working deep in the green along with another ATV — a tough, reliable one already hard at work there, supplied by NSG through a government tender just a few months ago.
The two ATVs help the Forestry Division monitor and protect St. Vincent’s lush, biodiverse forest ecosystems—some of the most beautiful and vital terrain on the island. After Beryl’s passing, many of these areas were cut off and foot access became dangerous or impossible.
The ATVs carry rangers and environmental officers into the bush—up steep trails, over fallen logs, and through streams. Sometimes they are loaded with gear: chainsaws, drone kits, sample boxes, or emergency supplies or used simply with a ranger on a mission to inspect nesting sites, check on post-storm erosion, or ensure illegal activities aren’t creeping in.
The two ATVs working together can now can double their coverage, get to more remote areas faster, and respond more quickly when nature—or people—need them. Over rough terrain, through rocky rivers, up steep muddy hills, these machines are built for hard work.
Together, they help keep an eye on:
- Reforestation efforts in storm-impacted zones
- Threats to endangered species and plant life
- Flood-prone areas and watershed integrity
- Trails and fire breaks that keep the forest and nearby communities safe
NSG also made other donations to the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force—to support emergency response—and the National Parks, Rivers and Beaches Authority, helping maintain and protect some of the island’s most iconic natural sites.
